Jennifer: What inspired the Waffles and Pancakes series of books?
Cindy: I actually wrote the first book before I even had children. I am not sure what inspired me at the time. I always loved the story and eventually read it to my children who also loved it. I came across it two years ago and decided to take the chance and sent it to a publisher. After the first one was released I decided that I wanted to write one about bullying for younger children. There are so many for middle school and high school, but not many for grade school. My hope is that my books will teach children something but in a cute and fun way, with loveable characters.
Jennifer: The pictures are darling, who is the artist?
Cindy: Jim Brenneman is the illustrator of the new book Waffles and Pancakes A Lesson in Bullying. He brought my story to life. I love his work and he will be illustrating the next in the series as well.
Jennifer: You are a creative book marketer! Can you share any tips with my readers?
Cindy: I am always thinking of ways to market my books to their fullest potential. Having a good social media presence is definitely one key. I spent two years building a following, finding parents, authors and other influential people. I also try to think of unique ways. When my first book was released we had a 12 hour celebration party on Facebook. The new book is also having a huge party and I will be having a twitter party. The more you get the name of your book out there the better.
Jennifer: The topics you could cover are endless, what are you working on next in the series?
Cindy: I have many ideas for the Waffles and Pancakes Series, the next one will most likely be A Lesson in Stranger Danger.
Jennifer: Where can readers connect with you online?

Jennifer: What do you like to do when you're not writing?
Cindy: I love to spend time with my family traveling or even watching a good movie in our living room. As long as we are together to me it's quality time shared.
