Book Tour Highlights for The Guardian Herd #2: STORMBOUND

I'm back from a whirlwind trip where I introduced students to the Guardian Herd book series and (hopefully) inspired them to follow their dreams!

Just like the STARFIRE book tour, I had an amazing time! Unlike the STARFIRE tour, I wasn't nervous. I knew what to expect and I was relaxed and excited to meet so many fun kids.

My heartfelt thanks to HarperCollins Children's Books and my publicist, Olivia Russo, for organizing and arranging the book tour. Thank you also to Joseph-Beth Booksellers and Annette (OH, KY), Barnes & Noble (NC), and Books & Books (FL). Many, many thanks to the librarians and media specialists at the public and private schools I visited--you were so gracious to host me! There is nothing like meeting readers in person. What an adventure.

Highlights!

I visited 1500 students and passed out 1500 sheets of character trading cards

I gave away 25 Guardian Herd posters

I signed hundreds and hundreds of books

I "snuck" into the Keeneland race track barns with my media escort, Annette. What a blast we had!
(A race pony, he escorts racehorses onto the track)

(A Kentucky Derby hopeful
Lexington, KY)
I had dinner with my cousin and he ordered the biggest piece of carrot cake in Ohio (I think)

I drank my first cup of espresso at Versailles in Miami

I visited a massive bookstore that has a life size horse inside it
(Joseph-Beth Booksellers, Lexington KY)

I posed for a picture with myself!

I signed a book for my nieces in Miami

I answered a million questions

I was warmly welcomed everywhere I went
North Carolina
I shared my story

I saw amazing art inspired by The Guardian Herd book series
(Art by Lauren at Carrollton school in Miami)
I flew almost 6000 miles
(Ohio River)

Happy Book Birthday to STORMBOUND!
