I queried The LL Book Review on January 27, 2012 and wrote about it, click here to read the article. On February 22, 2012, I was informed that a reviewer, Bob Cherny, selected my book for review. He asked for the book in .pdf format. I sent it to him. He completed the review on March 13, 2012 and the site scheduled it for publication today!
Professional editorial reviews require patience, it's a long process! Bob Cherny gave The Pet Washer "five stars all the way around." Click here to read the full review of The Pet Washer. Mr. Cherny mentions he's not a middle-grade book expert, but he could appreciate the story all the same. He states that The Pet Washer is a book he would have enjoyed reading to his children. Well, that's a huge compliment!
To Do: Submit your book to The LL Book Review today. There is no charge and they review almost every fiction and non-fiction genre including poetry.

And now for something completely different. I've been tagged in a Meme by Jill-Elizabeth at All Things Jill-Elizabeth. It's her first meme and mine too. The rules are:
Go to page 7 or 77 of your current MS/WIP, or go to line 7 (for short fiction). Copy down the next 7 lines, sentences or paragraphs and post them as they are written. Tag 7 authors and let them know and post a link to the author who invited you.
I am inviting the following authors to join the meme.I'm supposed to invite seven but I'm going to invite four today. I'm fine with anyone who wants to invite themselves! A meme is a link building activity but it's fun because we get to read a little bit of works in progress--always exciting!
1) D.M. Andrews
2) Molly Snow
3) Traci Hilton
4) Pedro Alvarez
I chose page 7 in my new YA, Dead Girls Don't Cry. Here it is:
"That was three days ago. Now, I’m lying on my bed staring at the posters decorating my room. They are of my favorite teams and players. The athletes are captured in extreme moments of bulging muscles and dripping sweat. Those are the moments that have driven me my whole life. I would trade the parties and the dresses and the honor roll for one perfect shot on goal. I fear my death has robbed me of what I lived for, sports."
Hi, Jennifer! Thanks for inviting me. I can't wait to check out what my MS says and post it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Molly! I'm looking forward to reading your seven lines!
